S8-Series / Low-Profile Valve

Double Flap Airlock Designed for Limited Space

AKA Double Pendulum Valve, Double Gate Valve, Double Flap Gate, Double Dump Valves, Tipping Valves, Trickle Valves - all names used to refer to the product we invented more than 60 years ago. The equipment may go by other names, but there is only one Plattco Double Flap Airlock® Valve!

The S8-Series is our low-profile valve.  It is built with the same rugged design as our famous H-Series valve at roughly half the height.  Its low-profile design is perfect for applications where headroom is restricted.

S8-Series valves are rated up to 15 PSIG / 2.75 Barg pressure differentials and can handle materials up to 1800°F / 980°C.

EXCELLENCE IN DESIGN:

Plattco Double Flap Airlock® Valves operate unlike any other airlock valve on the market.  To ensure the seal never breaks when filling & emptying, one valve always remains closed.

By design, the Plattco valve offers fundamental advantages as compared to rotary valves or other types of airlock valves on the market.  Plattco valves have:

  • Replaceable wear components which can be replaced inline without removing the valve housing from the system.
    • The housing is not part of the seal allowing it to last for decades, and saving companies thousands of dollars.
  • No built-in clearances in the seal components which eliminates tramp, fugitive air, and emissions through the valve into the system or leakage to atmosphere.
    • A better seal increases company profit by expanding overall process efficiencies and production capacities.
  • Proprietary design eliminates bridging, jamming & material build-up, issues that are inherent to the design of rotary airlocks.
    • Eliminates costly down time and lost production.
  • Design eliminates common issues with thermal expansion allowing the valve to be used for high temperature applications other valves cannot handle.
    • Rated for applications up to 1800°F / 980°C.
